SOLUBILITY IN WATER:
Partially soluble
PERCENT VOLATILE BY VOLUME:
Negligible
APPEARANCE AND ODOR:
Clear straw (SL-Lo) or milky (SL-Hi), low viscosity liquid; mild characteristic
acrylate odor.
FLASH POINT (method):
> 100°C (closed cup)
FLAMMABLE LIMITS: LEL

EXTINGUISHING MEDIA: C02,
dry chemical, foam or water spray
SPECIAL FIREFIGHTING PROCEDURES:
Burning will produce toxic fumes; wear self-contained breathing apparatus and
full protective gear.
UNUSUAL FIRE AND EXPLOSION HAZARDS:
High temperatures and fire conditions may cause rapid and uncontrolled polymerization
which can result in explosions and the violent rupture of storage vessels or
containers. Avoid use of a stream of water to control fires since frothing can
occur.
STABILITY: Unstable
INCOMPATIBILITY (materials
to avoid): Polymerization initiators including peroxides, strong oxidizing agents,
copper, copper alloys, carbon steel, iron, rust and strong bases, HAZARDOUS
DECOMPOSITION OR BYPRODUCTS: Acrid smoke-carbon monoxide/ carbon
dioxide fumes may be released during a fire.
HAZARDOUS POLYMERIZATION:
May occur.
CONDITIONS TO AVOID: Heat,
oxidizing conditions, ultraviolet light, inert gas blanketing.
SKIN: May cause moderate skin injury (reddening and swelling) and/or sensitization. Prolonged contact may cause blister formation (burns). Since irritation may not occur immediately, contact can go unnoticed.
EYES: Moderate to severe irritant; may cause chemical burn in eyes--damage irreversible.
INHALATION: No expected hazard, however use in well ventilated area.
INGESTION: Practically nontoxic
TARGET ORGANS: None known EMERGENCY FIRST AID PROCEDURES:
SKIN: Remove contaminated clothing. Wash skin thoroughly with mild soap/water. EYES: Rinse with clean water for 20-30 minutes. Retract eyelids often while rinsing. Seek medical attention
INHALATION: In case of exposure to a high concentration of vapor or mist, remove person to fresh air. If breathing has stopped, administer artificial respiration and seek medical attention.
INGESTION: If appreciable quantities are swallowed, seek medical attention.
SPILL OR LEAK PROCEDURES:
Blanket with firefighting foam. Cover with inert, absorbent material and remove
to disposal container.
WASTE OR DISPOSAL METHOD:
Follow all federal, state, and local regulations.
RECOMMENDED STORAGE CONDITIONS: Store indoors at 20-25°C in original,
unopened containers. Do not blanket containers with dry N2 or Argon. Oxygen/air
blanket recommended.
RESPIRATORY PROTECTION:
When exposed to aerosols or vapors, use full face organic vapor cartridge respirator
with particulate pre-filter. In emergency situations, or when used in confined
spaces, use self-contained breathing apparatus or other air supplied full-face
respirator.
VENTILATION: Local exhaust
recommended to control exposure which may result from operations generating
aerosols and hot operations generating vapors.
PROTECTIVE GLOVES: Impervious
(Neoprene)
EYE PROTECTION: Chemical
splash goggles or full face shield
OTHER PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT:
Eye wash facilities; safety shower
